Ethernet port on sky hd box use?

Correct, plus some updates if the satlink fails
Basically your Broadband has to be with Sky and cannot be the Sky connect package for Anytime+ to work.
Sky connect is basically if you don't have LLU in your exchange. You can check using the exchange search at www.samknows.com

Well soon as i got my Russ Andrews modded box back it did updates via ethernet!

so no point in connecting this to a router then?
Not what I was told yesterday when I rang up to cancel my sky. (22 minutes to cancel, ffs, they would not take the hint).
Even though I knew that what you posted is correct, and the flyers even said if you have a thompson box, to get it replaced as it would not work!
Aye, if you dont have the Sky BB dont bother, else you will get annoying messages onscreen telling you a "Broadband connection has been found, enter setup to configure anytime+" whenever your router reboots or ADSL has to reconnect.
I've never bothered with this. I have the top BB package with sky but only the base HD tv pack, ie no movies or sport.
I usually find with these services, unless you pay for the sport/movies etc the content isn't worth bothering with, or am I mistaken?
