Ethernet Problem with Gigabyte Motherboard

Hello,

Today I woke up to find my computer powered down (I leave it on most nights). After switching it on I realized that I did not have internet access. I tried restarting (multiple times), updating drivers, checking the BIOS to see if the onboard ethernet is switched off (it isnt from what I could tell) and still the device is absent from my device manager. At the beggining I had an unknown usb device and now I have a floppy drive (there is no floppy drive installed).

I use the onboard ethernet of my Gigabyte X58A-UD3R and found the drivers from http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3449&dl=1#driver. Dont know if I messed something in the BIOS and thats why I get the floppy or if this means something.

Anyone knows what is going on? Should I return my system or is there something I can do?

Sounds like it might have gone a bit funny from going into sleep mode, my asus board did a similar thing the other day and decided it wouldn't even post!

I removed the power cable and pressed the switch on the front to drain any power left it about 20 seconds then tried and it powered up fine!

Thanks. Thats what I did (eventually, without reading your post) and it worked.
