Ethernet Splitter

Hey all,

I have one ethernet connection in my room that comes from the Homeplug. That currently goes to my macbook, but I need another ethernet connection that goes across the room to my Xbox 360.

I saw the Ethernet Switches - Is that essentially an ethernet splitter?

No, switches are active devices.

Is there anyway, other than buying a homeplug with two ethernet ports (I think they exist

) or will I have to buy a 5 port switch?

I think it'll be a cese of a 5 port switch, I vaguely remember seeing a usb powered switch a while back, which might help if you don't want to have it plugged into the mains (most PC's can leave the usb ports powered when the machine is "off").

There are homeplug with multiple ports but it'll be cheaper to get a switch.
