I would like more ethernet switches in a certain part of my house, as my router is in an inconvenient place. Would connecting a switch to my router allow me to have more ethernet ports or would I need to buy another router and use it as an access point?

Thanks in advance :)

Ok - will a switch work well with a Virgin Media Superhub?
Unmanaged switches will work with any router,, they really do just allow more ethernet ports into 1, Does your super hub have gb ports? as if not then the (4?) devices into the switch will be sharing the 100mb port on the super hub.

I believe it has gb ports, as I have used them myself in the past and got gigabit speeds.

Router (connect 1 cable to 24 port switch)
24 port gigabit switch

-connect each machine up to the 24 port switch and they'll all get gigabit speeds
