OK,

OCUK dont stock these, I have looked, but to no avail. My laptop is seeing the onboard NIC, but it doesnt matter what CAT5 cable I put in, it wont connect (PS I hate wireless on the laptop, so I hardwired it) I bought an adaptor from a UK high street retailer today, but it was USB 1.1 and I wasnt too confident it would work, but tried it in vain..... transfer speeds are less than my BY 10 meg connection.

I know this sounds dumb, but i have seen a few USB 2.0 adapters and was wondering it will surely do better, I dont want to spend another £20 to find out its just as bad.....

Any input appreaciated, although I probably know the answer already..... just want a bit of backing :) per say

If your on-board adapter is knackered, I'd go for a PCMCIA or Cardbus ethernet adapter. It would probably be cheaper too.

Again bought this today, and still poor speeds on the network situation. This driving me nuts tbh, another £15 spend an no further forward :(
