ETQW mouse problem?

hey guys, i've downloaded this demo via steam and tried to run it but my mouse keeps going to the bottom RHS corner and i cant get past the main menu. any ideas on whats causing this? it doesn't do it in CS:S or anything else.

Make sure you havent got a joystick plugged in.
