Hey there.

I was wondering what might be happening here.

Ive got a GTX 560 and Phenom II X4 965.

To start with, on benchmarks both perform above average and same in other games.

Yet in Empire: Total War, it can get stuttery while it shouldnt. I've seen people claim they got about 50FPS on Ultra/High with a GT 9800GX2, yet mine doesnt feel above 50 at all, I'd say around 30-40

The game isn't patched yet. Before I start downloading the patches, could anyone tell me if CA covered the FPS loss for nvidia users in some of the patches ?

Also if theres patch 1.5, can I just download it and install it or do I have to go from 1.1 onwards ?

It should automatically update to the latest version from Steam, no?

Most of the problems it had on release were later fixed - I believe this included the nvidia stutter...
It's a shame everyone judges it on it's release state, I think it's a pretty good game now and I still enjoy playing it along with later ones :)

Only thing that bothers me with the game is the delay when scrolling the map, preffer it to work like romes:tw world map.

Press spacebar to speed up the unit animations, then just click on the minimap and your screen will move instantly to the new location. Not perfect, but it helps ;)

@OP: I had issues with Empire and stuttering. I had to go into one of the config files and manually set the number of processor cores being used. Once I did that the stuttering was totally gone. It may not be related to your GFX card. Worth a shot anyways, m8. As has already been said, definitely update to the latest patch as that will fix a lot of potential issues you may experience.
