This is an indie strategy game which looks kind of similar to PixelJunk Eden. Has anyone been inclined to pre-order it on Steam for £11.24 (25% off until release on 20th October).

It looks nice and I do like a good strategy game but information about the actual gameplay seems very sparse indeed. I can't even find any video of gameplay. :(

ABOUT THE GAME

Eufloria is an ambient game of space exploration and conquest that employs surprising themes of plant growth and bio mechanical evolution.

The game allows the player to explore a beautifully realized universe rendered in a style that is both unique and compelling. Eufloria's aesthetics are reminiscent of children's books like "the little prince" and the gameplay is supported by an original ambient soundtrack by Brian Grainger.

Gameplay revolves around conquering asteroids in space and using their resources to literally grow and nurture new semi-organic plants and creatures to do the player's bidding.

The player is pitched again several teams of AI opponents that all vie for the same resources and can offer fierce opposition.

Key features:
Much of the content in the game is procedurally generated.
Levels are different on every play-through.
Unique and beautiful ambient soundtrack created specifically for the game.
Easy to learn yet deep strategic gameplay

I noticed this a few months ago when it was ment to be released back in June/July before the delay to now.

I'll be looking to pick this up and can post a mini review of what the game plays like, although I do remember seeing some video's a while back and looked good!

Er... Excuse me for asking the obvious but if you want to know about the gameplay, why not download and play Dyson for free as it's essentially the same game?

Sorry? I thought Dyson was the old name for Eufloria. It's not even out yet so I'm totally ignorant as to what you are on about.

Huh..seems it is the old name, and yet i apparently just downloaded 'dyson' from the website..

Can anyone shed light on this?

Ah, I just found Dyson 1.20 on some blog site. It appears that is the pre-release demonstration version which is now succeeded by this Eufloria.

Dyson is an indie game which is very good in it's own right. So good in fact that a commercial version which expands on the theme and provides more content is being released as 'Eufloria'. The name was actually chosen as part of a community competition, which I thought was a nice touch.

just spent 3 hours on the 1.2 version of dyson..very addictive. Must say i'm tempted by the pre-order :p

It feels like it could go on for a long time - I didn't see any option to save so I quit after half an hour. But yes, it's quite interesting.

Downloading Dyson now, will have a quick game before bed lol

I saw this on Steam earlier too and was quite tempted, to be honest, by the flowery wierd graphics haha. Looks good and a lot more finished than the shots of Dyson but still puzzled by the gameplay... guess I'll find out about that in a minute or so though!

I got the demo a while ago, and I thought it was so good I bought the game straight after.

It's only downfall is a lack of multiplayer, but hopefully they sort that out soon :)

I've got it, its a bit disappointing, theres no strategy, instead you just build a mass of things and attack the enemy mass of things. Also the AI is retarded.

Its alright as a 10 minute distraction I guess.
