Hi folks,

I’m looking for some advice on a gaming rig if you could be so kind as to impart your wisdom!
My budget is €2000 including a monitor. Would like it prebuilt, not gonna mess around myself.

Monitor I’m looking at is:
G2460PG 24" 1920x1080 TN G-Sync 144Hz 1ms Gaming Widescreen LED Monitor – Gunmetal
Any comments on this based on suggested builds below?

I’m a little confused as to the cost gap in the below 2 builds. From what I can see the Titan (my ballpark budget) has a more expensive SSD but no sound card. Does the Skylate have higher end versions of the same thing basically?
Also, any advice re upgradability down the line, is double the Ram and another 1080 in sli possible on the Titan, if it was worthwhile?

Titan Virtual Force VR Gaming PC £1432
Phanteks Eclipse P400 Midi Tower Case
Asus Z170-E (Socket 1151) ATX Motherboard
Alpenfohn Matterhorn Black Tower CPU Cooler
Cougar 750W 80+ Bronze Rated PSU
Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz (Skylake) Socket LGA1151 Processor - OEM
Kingston Fury Black 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4 PC4-19200C15 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black (HX424C15FBK2/8)
Palit GeForce GTX 1080 Jetstream 8192MB GDDR5X PCI-Express Graphics Card
Samsung 250GB 850 EVO SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps 32 Layer 3D V-NAND Solid State Drive (MZ-75E250B/EU)
Seagate 1TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache HDD - OEM (ST1000DM003)
Microsoft Windows 10 64-Bit DVD - OEM (MS-KW9-00139)
I don’t think a sound card is optional here? (should I even bother with one)

Skylake Z170 Pro Gaming PC Configurator £1647 (over my budget obviously)
Phanteks Enthoo Pro M Midi Tower Case with Window – Black
Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz (Skylake) Socket LGA1151 Processor - OEM
Alpenföhn Brocken ECO CPU Cooler - 120 mm

Palit GeForce GTX 1080 GameRock 8192MB GDDR5X PCI-Express Graphics Card
Samsung 250GB 750 EVO SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps Solid State Drive
Seagate 1TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache HDD - OEM (ST1000DM003)
XFX XTR Series 850W 80 Plus Gold Fully Modular Power Supply
Asus Xonar DSX 7.1 PCI Express 1.0 Sound Card Retail
Microsoft Windows 10 64-Bit DVD - OEM (MS-KW9-00139)

Edit: PC will be used for gaming, BF1, COD etc.

I wouldn't bother with a sound card, on board is pretty good these days. Unless you are an audiophile you will struggle to notice the difference.

One thing on both specs is 8GB of RAM, you should aim for 16GB in a build like this.

Thank you for your input much appreciated.

Yes the S2716DG and 1080 would be even better but I thought it would take it over budget :)

Well not with the first rig thats about on my limit, but put the 2nd one there as to me they look very similar but dont know if im cutting myself short on anything, assume the price difference is for a reason :S

This would be good for £2K.

Thank you for that. My budget was €2k not £2k tho :P

The G2460 and GTX 1080 is a pretty imbalanced pairing to be honest.

Thanks guys, I'm happy with the rig.
Do you think I need to be spending £500 on a monitor to justify a 1070/1080?

A friend of mine suggested the U28E590D 28" 3840x2160 TN 4K FREESYNC Widescreen LCD Monitor. Any thoughts there?

. You will see people mention 1440p 144hz G Sync and a 1070 as the sweet spot at the moment for good reason! :)

Any 27/28" monitors you suggest that don't cost half my rig?
4K might be a way off but I would like the option to add another 1080 gfx card down the line and not need to upgrade my monitor to benefit from it.
