Ordered many hundreds of pounds of stuff of them for my father who was putting his car through a test booked on Friday. I was assured that the items were in stock, would be sent out on the Tuesday with a premium delivery service of £9.50 attached.

I rang up over the next couple of days asking for an update, to be told they were with the courier who hadn't updated their side set. Finally got the tracking number on FRIDAY (ie the day it was meant to be delivered), saying the parcel had been dispatched late thursday night.

In the package were calipers (which the car needed to pass its test) and due the parcel not arriving, my father had to purchase new calipers (he needs the car and couldn't reschedule the test for the forseeable future). My dad was unhappy but willing to keep the order for the other bits and what not. The problem is that there was a deposit for each caliper that would only be refunded (£72) when the old ones were replaced, which can't happen as they were taken in by the other garage when the other ones were replaced)

Rang up eurocarparts to complain and got swiftly told to **** off, that my order wasn't guaranteed (even though £9.50 was charged and there were specific dates set out), and that it wasn't their fault (even though I bought up that I had been assured the delivery had been sent out on Tuesday (ordered monday evening) when in fact it had not been).

The attitude was ridiculously poor, he said his manager wasn't in and that I should ring back another time. He could not have made it clearer what a complete lack of a **** his company gives and didn't even apologise!

Sorry for the rant, just bloody annoyed by the company for their outright lie at claiming it had been sent out on the Tuesday, as my dad would have had time to buy elsewhere without paying the premium you pay for last minute deliveries. At least admit fault where fault is due!

Going to ring back on Monday, and expect a full refund with them collecting the parts.

Jokers.

Good luck with that.

I typically avoid ordering car parts over the internet or by post, always try to do it in person so I can make sure it's right.

/GD?

As said whats wrong with going to the local ECP branch to buy.

I dare say they'll let you take the parts back to a local branch for a refund.

I've bought thousands of pounds of parts and the only issue I've ever had is them supplying the wrong pads twice even when I had told them the correct part number

My father doesn't live in this country, and Eurocarparts had a 50% sale which lasted til monday, hence the order. :)

They don't have a Euro Car parts where he lives, in fact they don't have many things. :p

They're *****

I wanted some wipers once, had to drive to London that day. Saw wipers on website, with good discount code on offer at time.

Reached London, went to reserve in store (with discount code!) and they'd took them off the site.

Called up local branch, confirmed they'd gone off website. Had them in though.. drove down with promise of discount as I couldn't order online.

They charged me the full price, and wouldn't respond to any of my three-four emails when I tried to get the difference back.

*****.

In that case your issue is with the courier.

If ECP sent the items out tuesday then the delay was with the courier, yes they may not have handled it too well when you rang them, but they probably weren't at fault in the first place

I rang DHL up who said that they had picked up the order on the Thursday evening. Nothing wrong with them at all.

Is it not more breach of contract? You paid for premium delivery due to time constraints andI they failed, and which left you having to buy alternative parts?

I did a Caddy a few months back, the guy wanted to chage the headlights for the newer ones, first two arrived one good, the other had the adjuster broke.......... SIX headlights later I got a good one

Well according to the guy I spoke to, it simply wasn't their concern. If he wouldn't even apologise for the **** up, then there seems little chance of them admitting they breached a contract! Hopefully I'll have a little more luck with the manager on monday.

What should I ask for/expect? My main concern is that I paid £72 for the deposit for returned calipers which I can no longer do...which means that unless they let my dad off that (unlikely as I'm sure they really want my dads old calipers!) he will essentially have been charged an extra £72 for the calipers! And he will struggle to return the lot at his own cost of postage as there was a large quantity of stuff including oil that most couriers wouldn't want to handle....especially internationally.

Ouch!

Always been good for me.

Always managed to get trade price in store to.

"Come on then, what's the cheapest you can do them for?"
"Just a second pal, I will have a look"

Never failed me. Well except for when they sent me the wrong disks, but they knocked some money off for the hassle.

Always dealt with them in-store though.

Never had an issue myself, service has always been great, parts stock is fantastic and the prices are good.

With reference to the OP, Two sides to every story IMHO.

If I need a part very quickly, I'll always use the local motor factors. If I can possibly wait a week or two, I'll use an online reseller.

They are cheap box pushers and yes they don't really care.

They are cheap though, have almost every part for a BMW in stock and have a local outlet, I can't complain too much.

Hi

I'm really sorry for the trouble you have faced, and am not impressed with the way you appear to have been treated,

I hope a mod doesn't mind me posting this, but can you please email your order number to me, on [email protected] so I can have this resolved first thing on monday.

Thanks,

Patrick

good to see someone from ECP taking an interest in this.

that said when I had my mk3 golf I ordered 7 wings and still couldn't get an undamaged pair. ended up buying from my local vw dealer instead due to the sheer hassle of going up only to be greeted by a sheepish looking parts desk person and another mangled wing
