Europa Universalis IV

Be aware that if you have CK2 on gamersgate then you have to pre-order EU4 on gamersgate in order to get the correct save converter. All other sellers give the steam CK2 converter which will not work with GG CK2.

Is this true for Amazon versions too? I have CK2 on Steam at the moment.

Also the Paradox website says ALL pre orders will get the free DLC (including the saved game converter, which is what I'm really after) but the amazon.co.uk website doesn't seem to mention it at all.

If you have CK2 on steam then you can pre order EU4 from anywhere except for gamersgate. Amazon will give you a steam code so you will be fine.

It looks to me like amazon.com has the pre order bonus because the game is direct download but the amazon.co.uk does not have it on direct download but rather physical copies in which case the pre order bonuses do not stand.

The saved game converter will be $9.99 after release and knowing how close the cost in £ tends to be despite the actual rate you may as well pre order on steam or even greenmangaming who are offering £5 cashback or a £7 voucher on all EU4 pre roders at the moment.

Feedback from the demo has been very positive. Trading, seiges and war mechanics have been raved about by EU3 veterans, only complaint so far is that religious and cultural coversion is far far too easy but that is something a community feedback patch can sort out.

Had a bit of a session on this last night - 11 hours! Really like the new interface and the tutorials are miles better for new players.

The online is still bonkers though, there's a new lobby system which is nice but for some reason it took ages for friends games to show up let alone be able to join them.

How many games do Paradox need to make a successful online experience in there games.

With a rebel yell they cried "more, more, more."

and if you did not give it to them they came at you on wave upon wave, destroying your manpower and occupying your cities.

EU3 rebels were softer than cottage cheese but these guys are cheap cheddar that has been left unwrapped in the fridge for 3 weeks. You definitely need to watch your national harmony more in EU4.

Cjs keys have it for 19.99

Never heard of that site before but they have the digital deluxe version for £20.50, very tempting. Any issues with them?

I love paradox games and have played them for years but just can't justify £30 on a game anymore. I was going to wait until the price dropped at christmas but if Cjs keys are trustworthy then I might have to go with it now.

Used cjs lots and lots, I've never had any problems either. And I'm considering getting it for 20 quid from them now too :P

Bought a copy for a friend and thought I'd try CJS. Key arrived swiftly after paying with Paypal. Had one little issue, didn't realise it was two keys and so copied the entire string into Steam only to be told it was invalid. Quick email to support and got a response within 5 minutes and it was all sorted, I'd failed to see the ; separating the two keys.

Wish I'd bought my copy from there and saved a couple of quid :p

Now back to the game!
