EV charging woes!

well balls! whilst I love my ipace still after a week of owning it, it seems my type 2 charging cable is knackered. I think it's the cable. I borrowed a mates for 10 mins and that seemed to work and my cable didn't work in his car.
add insult to misery we are going on holiday in it on Friday and we won't be sorted with replacement by then (I don't want to buy one they are £200 notes for a 3 phase one).
I did a CCS charge at shell on way home just to test. it worked but Jesus Christ. at 85p a kWh I could buy vpower diesel for less than that. not sure what I will do but I guess it will involve being ripped off at fast chargers.
I phoned marshalls main dealer and they offered to book me in ....... in July! I said that is no good so they promised to contact me in 24 hrs.

I spoke to the place I bought the car from they said it's under warranty with jaguar... but they would see what they could do and get back tomorrow.

I think i have a spare type 2 cable you can borrow for a bit if you're nearby
 
Through the worry, angst, excuses, blame shifting and expense, one thought will see you through.

bugger Greta...... i have 2-3p per mile driving (once my cable is fixed/replaced and am not using fast charging) a luxury car with lots of toys and 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. These issues are just teething ones. some people are pratts but that is an unfortunate fact of life and faults happen.

any green credentials is the cherry on the cake, but let me be honest if i bought an EV purely for the environment i would have gotten a nissan leaf or maybe an i3 (still fancy an i3 or maybe a renault 5 when we replace the other car).
(that said i would never have bought an ice equivalent of this car, being an EV does allow a little more excess i guess)

Yea I know what you mean. I still the the biggest issue is that massive outlay. A guy I work with has a base model polo, and drives 5k a year. His payback time will be next century :cry:. I am envious though, as he's getting a Polo gti which comes with adaptive suspension on a car that costs half the model 3, but we're stuck with bog standard stuff.

Edit sorry thought this was model 3 thread, but the point still stands.

pants I didn't know she'll was part of electroverse. I have one of those cards but didn't use it and paid 85pkwh

not bothered tho it was a trial to make sure it works . I have a new charge cable and just drove to the coast. car was great to drive
