EV - Public Charger Usage

That’s not how Tesco/pod point work, once you plug in, you have to claim the charge on the app within 15 mins or it turns off again.

If you claim the charger and you’ve not plugged in (E.g. your 2 mins away in the car), there is nothing to stop someone plugging in and taking it before you get there.

10k miles and used one twice due to journey distance

Quick 20 minute blast while I went to pee and get a coffee

EV owner for over a year. Never used a public charger or charged outside of my cheap rate electric.
You've obviously not driven more than 200 miles over 2 days then :p . I used one on the way to Newcastle last month, and it worked really well although was strange as it was a supercharger (tesla, not sure if there any other "brands"), and I had to register my reg plate at the hotel reception, which was free but I question the point of it, unless it's to stop people leaving cars there.

There is a couple weird Chinese restaurants in Derby like that.

Had my e-Tron a year and used all public chargers (around twice a week), mix of tesla, instavolt and bp pulse

had issues with house sale so never could order home charger, just resolved today so just ordered my home charger (hypervolt)

I used them about 8 times when went up to Scotland, when we stopped for lunch, put in on a charger and went from 30% to around 83% in the time took to use the loo, eat lunch then had enough range to get the rest of the way.

Would then charge on the way back to the caravan park for about 30 mins as no on site charging, charged at St Andrews when we went for a day trip and lastly on the way back at the York designer outlet.

I think the whole week cost me about £50 to do 1,000 miles so happy with that, no point did I have any range anxiety, but if we stopped somewhere and there was a free charger I would plug in.

Still happy I swapped to an EV, and at home I charge off solar or grid

Used a public charger once in the last 6 months, and it was due to needing a lot of charge the next day and we hadn't had our PodPoint installed yet. Other than that, I don't need it. My Kona is great on economy, so even when we do a Liverpool - Leeds return trip it uses just over half a charge.
