since putting on this service pack 1 onto vista 64
in the bottom right it says
evaluation copy build 6001

is this normal?

legit copy bought from OCuk
and its activated

Isn't sp1 still a rc1? which could explain it.

Yeah, it's normal if you installed the RC of SP1. FYI, it's in the release notes .
