Hell all Eve fans .

I need to get my teeth into somthinig else on Line since BF2 is dying and my clan are not playing that much

First of all a few questions please .

1.What is the current version that most poeple are playing.
2.How steep a learning curve is the game to get into .
3.Is tha game full of hackers or glitchers ect .
4.How much is the subscription.

Cheers

4.How much is the subscription.

I don't play EVE any more but come on, you cannot find that out from their website? You've got no chance in the game. Takes a lot of learning to get good at it.

I believe you can get cheaper game cards though.

im playing the trail and im loving it. the game is full of spammers though spamming links to websites selling in game items.

you can block them though.

i suggest playing through the tutorials, and go through the initial agents to get a feel for travelling around and doing missions.

the universe is absolutely HUGE. when you load up the map and you see all them dots , those dots are sectors and reachable.

The game has a thriving organic economic system with a real time market for buying and selling.

not decided yet to keep playing after my trial.

see how it goes.

"Where do I start"

Here's a tip, don't. It's far too addictive and will eat up your life :p

On a separate note for kemik, what are these "gamer cards" about?

1.What is the current version that most poeple are playing.
The latest version is V4.12.53162, but that really doesnt matter, as to play EveOnline you connect to basically 1 server (which everyone connects to) and you must be running the most recent client to connect to it.

2.How steep a learning curve is the game to get into .
Extremely, but, there is really no issues with taking things as slowly as you want, the game has many many differant options for you to take, some being relatively easy to get into (missions/Trading) others being extremely difficult to master profitably (PVP, production, research)
Id highly recommend joining the Oc-Ps corporation/alliance, who have a proven history of helping give new and experianced players alike a hand learning pretty much all aspects of the Eve universe. Their senior members have experiance in pretty much every facet of the game

3.Is tha game full of hackers or glitchers ect .
Not that im aware of, the above post about spammers suprised me, ive played Eve for ~4years and only had about 10 spam messages in that time.

4.How much is the subscription.
As mentioned above the cheapest subscription method is 90day time cards costing ~£20 each, so a little under £7/month

Dont mention it...

what ever you do dont skip the tutorial, i did and i lasted a few mins and then decided i couldnt be bothered

the above post about spammers suprised me, ive played Eve for ~4years and only had about 10 spam messages in that time.

the rookie chat channel there are loads of spammers with randomly generated user names. i don't mean personal spam, but chatroom spam. its not that big of a deal, you just block them

I thought that too, but then I started a new character and found the rookie help and newb corp channels to be full of spammers. Though that was a few months ago and I think CCP have addressed the issue somewhat since then.

The game is as adictive as any other online game. the feature i like about it as i work away from my pc a lot is your char will be learning skills while you are not logged on.

There are lots to do in game, you can fight, mine, build, sell, mission running, PvE, PvP, invent, explore and each one of these routes has a lot of skills to learn to make it faster and better for you, some of them you can cross over into, as in explore and combat help each other. Some skills are good what ever you pick, like the learning books to raise your skills to lower the time for training. Then you get missions to learn new things, find out new ways to use items on your ship ect.

Then the chat channel is there for you to ask, watch when the bad guys come in to your system, asking for help, giving help to others.

And when you think you have learnt it all, then you find something called escow lol, and the learning curve starts again.

To me, to put it simply, wow is for under 18's and eve is for over 18's.

come try it, you get a free trial but that only shows you about 5% of what the game holds for you.
