EVE online - 14 day trial

Hey folks, I just signed up for the 14 day free trial and was wondering if anyone would care to join me in playing.

I havn't got any details just yet. I'm a serious newb at this. I was wanting a more serious sci-fi mmo to play. Or just something engaging really. Any tips that could be of use? :p:D It says I'm on the tranquility server.

haha! Can't be that bad!

I'm an amarri. Working in industry and prospecting! I don't know what it is about me and just getting resources and being wealthy in these games. I care not for combat... although I will dapple into it, at a later stage in time!

Wasn't there a 21 day free trial through Steam??

Amazing game but 14 days isn't really long enough to fully get your head around the game, hell, after 2 years of playing I was still learning.

If you want a bit of fun for 14 days, look up a corp called DARKNESS INC. Cracking bunch of lads and they'll introduce you to hi sec piracy and low sec fighting. Best fun I ever had playing with these guys. Tell them IR RAPIER sent you there way :D

Does it matter what race you are? My head won't get wrapped around it in 14 days no, but I suppose it will give me some sort of need to go out and actually buy the game. :) Seems like it will be one of those "just one more hour" game. And frankly, I like that.:cool:

race doesnt matter aside the starting attributes (and which race ships will be avaiable without buying skills)

perc/willpower will be the stats you need to train combat related and spaceship command skills quickly, int/mem are better for everything else (with exception of leadership which is primarily charisma)

you wont need to buy the game either just add game time, shatteredcrystal.com is what i use to buy GTC's, cheaper than direct

game does take a while to get into, but once your hooked then its a good un :)
 
I played for four years and now given up, just can't be bothered really anymore feels like the same thing over and over. I really do wish they didn't nerf everything possible.
 
I've found it to be a little repetitive :p
Also when I create a character it is so hard to come up with a name that hasn't been taken :eek:
 
lol My character name is aralello then I realised that's what the guys off resi evil 4 say when they're shouting at you! *blood runs cold* And it's new to me, so I won't be feeling the nerf atleast.
 
Great game, been playing for a few years now, can't see me quitting anytime soon either.
There's a thread here if you like reading & want to trawl through it.

If you think you're going to stick at it, give yourself a few days & look for a corp with the same interests that you require. Have fun.
 
Makes a change from WoW atleast. I want to play Warhammer, but they cheapo I am, just have to wait for a free trial. :)
 
No reviews are up yet about it as far as my keen senses can be arsed researching. Could you tell me what it's like, I asked in the official thread, but got sorely ignored. hahaha

Well, ill try keep it short

Pros
- Graphics are good
- RvR is very fun scnearios a lot like wow bg's can sometimes get repetetive but open RvR in like cities etc is definitely fun
- Roll eltharion server if you are going order :D (healthy pop and balance)
- Their game ideas are good, i can see this game going far with stuff they have planned
- Class balance seems ok and very unique i am playing a witch hunter and enjoy it a lot.
- Zones are nicely made with RvR areas in middle
- Public quests are really fun, basically quests u do with 10 other people around u and win good loot.

Cons

- BIG ONE combat is nowhere near as fluid as wow, it can be bit clunky at times. I think they will fix it if they dont i will leave war.
- Realm pops if u dont roll right server ** stuck in queues
- Lag at moment also fits in with combat clunkyness.

Thanks mate, it does help. I've played the tabletop game! I love it, I'm a chaos man through and through.

It will take you 14 days to get through the tutorial alone... :(

WOTLK is out soon, just hold off MMOs till then and you'll be back refreshed for the new content!
