OK after much debating after spending way too much time on WoW, decided to give a little bit to Eve, what do I need to know, and do before starting this game, and is there still and OcUK Corp?

get in the "ocuk" chan ingame
do the WHOLE tutorial
don't get started mining after you finish the tutorial
contact me ingame.

As already stated, get into the OcUK channel. From what I hear there's plenty of people in there that can help new people to the game and give them a well needed boost up for the first few weeks. If possible, also apply for the OcUK corp. You won't get anywhere in an NPC corp.

Also, (as already stated again) do the tutorial. It might be a bit boring but it'll pay of later.

Decided what path you wish to choose (industry based side where you mine, build, research etc or PvP and all that lark). When you've decided make sure to base your skills around that particular area. Don't spread them around too much. Oh and get your learning skills up as quick as possible. You won't see much advantage to start with but later on it'll really pay off.

you want to try and get all your skillpoints as even as possable (with the expeption of charisma maybe) or you'll find that some areas will be slower than others (spaceship command may take ages compaired to gunnery skills etc.)
