Any of you people play EVE Online? Just downloaded the 14-day trial and am going to start playing tomorrow. Just trying to find some people to annoy ingame so I don't get too bored :)

I'm pretty new myself, close to 1 month old! Yay!

If you eventually start looking for a corp to join get ahold of me ingame. Someone in the above thread suggested EVE University, a very big training corp, i'm glad they did as i'm having loads of fun there and learning a lot and i'll walk you through how to apply and join.

Mine was great, until the bloody thing started crashing the PC as gate jumps! I'm on the 14 day trial, running a 'Condor'! I chose to use the Nuclear tipped rockets to get my point across, but the bloody thing still crashes when I attempt a jump!

Don't you hate that, sometimes in the middle of a battle it just freezes. I am vey lucky I didn't die any of the times it did it. Windows only starts being annoying when I play EvE.

A lot ( A LOT) play without sound. I haven't heard eve for a good few months. I suspect skully hasnt heard it for years ;)

If you're using on-board sound it could definitely be the problem.

yes, I don't think they get deleted unless you ask for it. And your character still trains any current skill when your subscription ends, so pick a long one. :)

You don’t know what your missing the new sound system a few weeks ago is great. Which I assume you never heard if you not used sound in months.

More so if you do PvE the music change’s based on what you doing and 3Dsound is great as well. Using a gate triggers sound you don’t normally get.

Ah, I'll try it with the sound disabled then. I'm not using onboard sound though, I've got a Audigy2.
 
I couldn't play without sound, wouldn't know when an npc rat is attacking me while mining cos I'm looking at my other screen.

Well, I have had it on, and it gets EXTREMELY annoying after 30 mins of "pew pew" 8 Lasers going off everything 0.7 secs, so now its off.
 
im running 2 accounts on one PC, the sound crashes both accounts if they both have it turned on. if just one has sound enabled then its fine, although it is then hard to hear Vent.

Same: I barely ever play with sound on these days. You just don't need it.
