So, I know all you guys play EVE, but I think this deserves its own little thread.

Straight off, I'm enjoying EVE a lot, 2 accounts, each with about 11Mil SP and loads of ships.

One flys only Caldari ships, with a couple of Gallente cruisers for PVP, the other is 100% Minmitar ships. Both toons are Caldari.

The problem im having is with naming the ships, for example, my Hurricane is named 'Krayte Dragon' and none of my names have any coherency so im wondering, how do you guys name your ships?
 
Some of my names are REALLY poor.

Osprey - Lemon
Jaguar - Dark knight
Wolf - White Lightning
Rifter - Trident
Mammoth - Firefly
'Cane - Krayte Dragon
Rupture - Talon (see if you know any backstory to this ;))

Thats all i can remember of the top of my noggin.

I was thinking of grabbing a couple of sheets of animal names, in latin or something and naming each ship according to how deadly it and the animal is....would that work?
 
I'm a bit literal when it comes to naming ships. My geddon is 'Big and Pointy'. My Typhoon is generally 'God, I'm Ugly' :p

I was like that, then started getting wierd and carp.

My caracal is named Cracker MK IV, and my navy Caracal is Cracker MK VI

Hmm...just looking at the Eve website, very first line of the GTC guidelines :

Any forms of GTC trades outside the CCP created systems are not allowed or supported by CCP

Pity, looks like my character might go for upwards of 8bn, that's a lot of plexes :)
 
you cant sell plexes for cash though and the only way to sell gtc that is covered by ccp is through account management so i dont think you get any code you can sell just time added to your account.

selling accounts to people on the obvious mmo trading forums is stupidly risky aswell as most people will only want to pay via paypal and then you run the risk of them doing a chargeback or dispute which they obviously win
 
I'm really creative with my ship names. I've got a Frigate called Punisher, a Cruiser called Omen, a Battlecruiser called Harbinger and will soon have a Battleship called either Apocalypse or Armageddon :p

Might come up with a naming convention at some point though..... lol

To answer this question, I always used the same name but placed an appropriate Roman numeral at the end. Haven't played in ages so can't remember the actual name of my ships but here's and example, e.g. Tristar IV, Tristar V, Tristar VI etc.

Thats what I do.

Certain name for my intys, certain one for BC's etc.
