Even Intel don't use their own cooler!

I know if i was an intel rep i wouldnt be showing off the latest cpu's under a stock cooler, ive never used one and dont think i ever will.

The one they give you with the 965 is actually a very good performer and different design as it has a lot of copper in it. But still push pin so it had to go as the pins are flimsy. Intel obviously provide a basic HSF as they know most people will replace them and only business users will keep it so its adequate for that useage.

they dont use their own coolers because they save money by providing a cheap cooling solution that is adequate for the job

they know most people who plan on pushing the chips will have a decent cooler planned for it so they dont waste their/our money by pushing high performance, expensive stock coolers on us
