Hello all, I'm Charly.

Having built a few machines with little to no prior knowledge of what I was actually doing, I have managed to learn a thing or two. Enough that I secured a job at Maplins, anyway.

I would like to know more though, or correct any errors in my understanding I may have acquired. That, and I enjoy talking about my current project; Frank.

Frank is the name of my desktop computer build. Or rather, this incarnation of him. Many years ago, I learned that you could take the side of a computer off and stick a new graphics card inside it. Then, if you stuck this thing called RAM inside it, games went even smoother. I was then given an unwanted computer, which I stripped down and salvaged for parts. Stuck a second CD drive and a second HDD in the first machine. Because I could.

Last year I decided to go further. Still using the same case, PSU and CD Drives, I added a new motherboard, processor and some DDR3 RAM. I tried to use the old HDD, but replaced it with a SATA instead. With a clean Windows install came the requirement of a new name for the computer. As it was made of parts from deceased machines, I named him Frankenputer. Frank for short.

Frank has had quite a few modifications since, with more to come. He's currently inside a beautiful NZXT Phantom 410 Midi case, but doesn't yet have a board that can do this justice. That's one of the many things on the "To Do" list, of which I hope to get some advice/input on from you lovely people. So, here I am.

Apologies for the cumbersome introduction, and thank you if you read it all.
