Event and Log Management for Servers

What apps or tools do you use for Event Correlation / Log Management across your enterprise?

Looking for a Windows app for Windows Servers and maybe PC's aswell to pull logs and look at events from a central place.

We had GFI event manager running, which was OK but very slow

That looks nice, but I cant believe they are changing that much for it! It's not that good!

How many servers?
What type of infrastructure? e.g. School or banking. Banking = mission critical and throw money at a good solution, school = penny pinching and get freeware where possible!

We aim all of ours where they should rightfully go, to a Linux syslog server (since Linux is King of the Hill!) and use Splunk to access it (browser).

It just works and handles tons of data without any problems at all.
