as per title really. I keep getting a windows has recovered from a serious problem message when I boot/reboot. This SideBySide error event viewer message seems to coincide with it.
I was also getting BSODs (something about memory dump) yesterday when I tried to load Farcry saved games so I installed latest video driver -thought it might be related to the SideBySide error. It cured the Farcry BSODs but I am still getting the SideBySide error & the windows error message.

Anyone got any ideas? Windows seems ok once I cancel the error screen so I'm not overly concerned right now. Running SP1 & cpu overclocked, gfx at stock though -still get the errors if cpu at stock.

Farcry started misbehaving again so I reinstalled it yesterday. Seems as though the save files were getting corrupted somehow. I *think* it's ok now but I'm still getting the error messages on reboot.
Any ideas anyone?

ok I think I've fixed the errors now.

I found a good site here : link

I ended up downloading & installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86)
Can someone explain what this actually is & what it does?

Thanks :)
