Yesterday I finally recieved my i5 760, Asus p7p55d-e, Corsair Dominator 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9, Titan Fenrir evo.

Not a great start I have to say;

1. The packaging from ocuk was a bit on the risky side with each box surrounded by the outside cardboard and a bit of air cushion inbetween each box wasnt too pleased but no harm from that that I saw.

2. Taking out my old motherboard was the worst lol stand-offs came out rather than the screws. fun.

3. Opened up motherboard box to find some damage very minor and easily solved but wasn't happy as it was new, was only the metal spring things that touch the IO shield just had to reshaped them to fit.

4a. Instructions for the Fenrir Evo were to a bit on the unclear side but that went ok UNTIL when installed in the normal direction of fan side on same side as ram when installed with the fan it covered 1 and half of my ram slots so couldn't use duel channel was not happy.

4b. Had to mount the cooler the other way around for ram to be used in duel channel which now means that the airflow of my case is reversed IN at back OUT of the front.

5. Did a test on my desk before putting into case ran fine (only used 1 stick of ram at the time), Got into case power to everything refused to boot memOK light on so did what the manual said, nothing happened so took out both sticks (was using black slots) put one stick in nothing again seems to be that none of the black ram slots will allow my pc to boot and same was with duel channel in blue slots but after testing each stick separately to check they worked i put back into duel channel and it worked.

6. So much for the fenrir evo fan being silent its running itself at 2500rpm and is the loudest thing in my case.

So overall I had a strange time putting it together not sure if the Black ram slots not working in single or duel channel is worth the RMA (or im just being dumb and they only work if I have 4 sticks the manual is a bit strange on this one). Not happy about having to re mount the fenrir backwards and changing my airflow but the temps so far are nice with 16-20 on idle and 35-40 in games so far with no overclock is fine by me.

The improvements from my e6600 + p5n32-e using my 460gtx are just ridiculous from 40fps average 70fps max using min settings everything off and dx9 in MOH to 50fps min 70average 90max with everything on maximum on dx11 is just what I was looking for.

Sorry for the rant and if anyone knows if the ram thing is me not the board please say.

Regarding the memory clearance problem i had the same issue with an akasa cooler, also on an P7P55D board, i ended up having to mount it the other way round like you did

I had the same issue with the titan fenrir on my x58 motherboard, I found that you can mount the fan slightly higher and clear the ram. It's been running fine @4GHz for over a year now. It's not ideal, but it works.

I tried to mount the fan higher but the height of the dominator ram still blocked it, but this way is working all right so far as the rear case fan is bringing the air in and i have a front mounted fan pulling it out again that is in line with the others which should help.

Anyone know anything about my ram issue??

Im going to put the cpu fan onto my fan controller today just to bring it down during night times and movies, the noise doesn't bother in the day, its just that I spent the extra £5 on the evo for the quieter fan but same performance nvm the black and gold can justify that.

My Fenrir Evo came with a resistor cable, drops the RPM from 2500 to 1400 making it almost silent.
