Everest 4x Temps - Reliable ?

Trying to establish how reliable Everest Temps are (for OC'ing) - I have downloaded the latest version (trial)......are we talking TAT/CoreTemp style temps or ASUS Probe style....? In essence, can they be used as sole temp monitor for Quad overclocking ?

Am running Vista 64-bit and thus my choices are limited, just want to be sure before forking out pennies for software......

everest reads temps from the sensors on the board and the thermal diodes on the cpu and gfx cards. so the accuracey of everest depends on the accuracey of your sensors.

everest reports around 10 degrees lower than the Nvidia util on the GPU... so i wouldnt trust it for that...

core temperature seem roughly correct... around a 5 degree discrepancy with different utlities, although real temps seem to be a mystery with 2 cores, not sure about the 4...
