Noticed this today on everest after reininstalling XP x64

I know its clocked at 3400MHz since i did it but why does it say 3600MHz on the cores :confused:

Thanks

Not sure why it says that, however under "CPU properties" it's reading the correct CPU frequency @ 3400MHz, so just ignore it :)

Or verify with CPUZ.

Yeah that's fine, weird that Everest is reporting 3.4GHz under CPU properties, but 3.6GHz under the cores, but ignore it.

Your chip is running at 3.4GHz :)

The Everest 'reading' 3613 is I believe 425x8.5 i.e. max speed rather than running speed.

Am not an expert though!!

Are you running Auto voltage to cpu for your overclock ? If not what did you set in bios?

Yeah thanks for the reassurance :)

Somethin else i must tell you, just as i booted off disk to install windows again the computer blue screened. I found out when i went into the BIOS that the multipler was 8.5 x 425 and not 8.0 425 when it was definatly 8.0 when i last configured those settings, its weird. Anyways i put the mulitpler back to 8.0 and all is fine now except for those readings which are ok but just confusing

Thanks

Hi yes you are right the highest multipler is 8.5 for quad. The voltage is not auto set i manually set it to about 1.9V round about. why?

Thanks

i manually set it to about 1.9V round about. why?

Your cpu-z picture showed 1.16 volts - nice and low :) So just wondered if it was on auto volts or not. (Will be giving my 9550 Cpu a bit of a boost over the next few days - so all info helps)

I hope your 1.9v was a typo - Frying tonight ??

P.S. What cooler you running?

Hi Guys yes the 1.9V was a mistake, could have fried and egg on that ;)

The voltage in my BIOS is exactly 1.19375V thats the correct reading?

Is this ok?

Also guys what about the everest problem have i got something to worry about here or is all fine? :)

Do not think you have an Everest 'problem' - it's just telling you that at standard setting of 333fsbx8.5=2.83 whereas at your setting of 425fsb x 8.5 the max speed is 3.6 .

No need to lose any sleep imho:)

Temps ?

So basically its just telling me the max speed i can get from 425 with an 8.5 multipler even though the mulipler is "set" to x8?

So its just telling a potential max speed?

Thanks:)
