Guys,

I have recently installed the Alphacool display (Which looks nice) and have installed the ultimate version of everest and feeding the temps from this to the display.

Now with the cpu it has a temp for "cpu" and then 4 temps 1 for each core (even though i have a d0 i7) now which temp do i use for monitoring?

And what is the cpu temp for is it an average or something?

Yep, normal, my old Q6600 had different temps and my I7 does the same.

It may be the heatspreader on the cpu or the cooler base is slightly concave.

You just need to watch the hottest one. The rest are cooler, so you can ignore.

If a waterblock/HSF is not making 100% perfect contact, the temps will show differently. If you were to lap you cpu you would get more even temps. Myself, my core #3 is about 7 degrees cooler than the other 3 cores due to a badly mounted heatsink. Must get round to reseating it when I get the time.
