I've just installed the latest version of Everest why does it show 3 CPU's?

its not showing three cpu's, its showing both the two cores on your dual core CPU
and the third temperaute is the 'GPU' the Graphical Processing Unit, IE the temperature of your graphics cards core

M8 i can see 3 CPU Temps there one at 28 one at 38 and the other at 36...I know the 4th one is the GPU...I underlined the top one which i was wondering about.

What i want to know is why it is giving 3 temperature temps 1 saying the CPU is 28 degrees and 2 saying 38 & 36 on the cores.

oh yeah LOL my eyes
hmm maybe your motherboard has a sensor on it that its reading the first temperature from, the other two temps will be actual physical core temps read from the chips themselves, it could also be incorrectly reading a different motherboard sensor such as the ambient case temp as a CPU temp reading, at 28 seems quite low, esp as the physical core temps will likely be relatively accurate, that or the sensor is just pants, anyhow id just ignore it and use the physical core temps for accurate readings

I do anyway...i don't even know why people install these programs when they don't even give a proper reading of temps & benchmarks....to me its all just a ploy to entice people to purchase unneeded software.

The top "CPU" temperature is a sensor on the motherboard that reads the temperature underneath the CPU.

The other two sensors "CPU #1 / Core #1" and "CPU #2 / Core #2" are the temperatures as read from the diodes inside the processor cores.

It is correct that the Core Temps are ~10-15c hotter than the motherboard temperature. It makes sense that the inside of the CPU is hotter than the temperature underneath it, once it has had chance to lose heat to the environment.

Importantly though, your temps are nice and cool and nothing to be worried about.

Thanks for the explanation Morfik understand it more now..... ;)

Wasn't worried about the temps just wondered why is was showing 3 CPU's thats all....Now u've explained it i understand why.
