Everquest 1 - original game

anyone still playing everquest 1, i'm currently playing on the free to play side lvl12 cleric, and have an on of friend who plays with me, do OCuk maintain a Guild presence?
working ou ways through the low lvl quests at the moment.

EQ1 was chosen as the two other people i'm looking to play with dont have top notch computers or uptodate laptops so needs something older less demanding for them. before some one suggests moving to a differnt game.

How long does it take to download from scratch these days? And whats the game size?

Are you playing with Luclin character models or the original models? If original character models are still supported by game.

game size is around 9gb, from scratchi think it took around 3hrs with rough speed of 1.5mb
i was out when it finish so dont know exact time.

te games not been modded so its all stock for me, what ever the charactor came with the game.

i should say i'm silver memership as i purchasd the game ages ago when it was pay to play but never managed to get in to it, untill now.

Original game 9gb? seems wrong - I had a 2 CD (~1.1GB) installation from back in the day that was the complete works at the time including updates, etc.

Haven't played it in a long time, really couldn't get into the game past blackburrow - everything else seemed to be really boring.

i have something like 12 out of the 19 expansions as part of the pack i purchased. so its not the original release u purchased Rroff.
im enjoying playing and helping at thr moment but not to far through yet.

The game was released 14 years ago. They've probably added a thing or two since your two cd's worth

I recently reinstalled for nostalgia mainly, it is indeed around 9gb.

My 13+yr old char was still there, I had a run around but I don't think i could put the time and effort into it anymore. Was a truly great game back in the day though.
