Hey there

So I am just posting this to let you all know, SOE have started a promotion with EQ2 and have added 60 days free game time to your account if your subscription is cancelled and you also get some free in-game items to claim. It's part of a promotion to get old players back getting new players to the game.

Thanks.

I'm just downloading the trial. Only 5hrs to go! Looking forward to a change from wow and don't really fancy AoC. Any hints for a noob?

Only played to level 40 or so before going back to WoW, but do persevere with the crafting side of things - it's a helluva lot more complicated than WoWs but is well worth it. I played a necro and a mage and could scribe more powerful versions of the basic spells (the most powerful versions only dropped from mobs, and were v. expensive in the AH).

Also get into the player housing side of things - at first I thought it was just a pointless distraction from the main business of levelling, but I visited some other players' houses and realised I was actually missing out on something.

Just logged into my Station account to check this, and apparently I've never played Everquest II, or made payments for it despite playing for over a year. Pah.

They are doing this because it is dying a painful death due to AOC :p

The only thing that will kill EQ2 will be SoE.

If WoW couldn't kill off EQ2, AoC won't either. AoC is chump change compared to Blizzards big hitter.

No, EQ2 will keep on trucking. Bear in mind EQ1 is 9 years old, has 14 expansions and still pulls in a hefty profit for SoE.

I just got an email asking me back to Everquest 1 for free till the end of July. It's very tempting :o
Edit: Oh and there's the email about EQ2 as well :D

Hmm, appears my EQ1 account is indeed active again, I quit EQ2 about 2 weeks ago and I don't seem to have access so I guess I missed out on that one.

Realised last night I had 2 station accounts...found my EQ2 one and yes, 60 days free.

All installed and updated, but the damned servers are down. Itching to get back in with my lvl 42 Guardian and see if things have improved any.

I played it for a month before cancelling. I have no email offering me free game time.

I soooo much wanted to get into EQ2 but it didn't happen at the time. I also remember some hassle involving calling the US if you forget your password. I'm damned sure I can't remember mine.

I keep trying to get into EQ2 but I just get bored and confused and dont know what to do and there is no one to assist me.
