Everquest 2: Windows Vista equal to XP?

A friend tried Everquest 2 on Vista 32-bit Home Premium around a month ago. Said it ran dreadful on Vista, and had to reduce everything massively and still not achieve the same performance level of XP.

This was with a clean install of Vista fully patched, and now a clean install for XP.

Not sure if this is due to his hardware, or just SoE poor coding ability with Everquest 2.
AMD San Diego 3700, 7900GTO, 1.5GB (I think), RAID 0

Anyone else got a duel boot system specifically because this game runs better under XP? Or have left XP behind for this game and been happy with Vista performance?

Nope, if there was a difference it wasn't enough that I could see it. This was vista64 vs xp.

Actually, I got a bigger monitor at the same time as the vista upgrade, so it was actually running at a higher resolution.
