Okay, my computer has gone wrong!

Windows loads up fine but every program I load somehow prompts BF2 to load up. So basicly I can't load firefox, ABC, Win help & support, spybot or well anything. All makes BF2 load :-S

If you go on the properties of any application, the Target is aimed
at the correct file. Any ideas. Its rendered my computer useless!

i'm stumped two. I though about reinstalling BF2 but though then nothing would work as everything is pointing at a progeam which isn't there.

I have restarted Windows and now I get comfronted by a BSOD (0x00000024). Can I run a CHKDSC for my C drive but not through Windows ?

Yes if you put your XP disk in you can get to the recovery console where you can run chkdsk.

Okay. So bung the XP disc in. Set the bios to boot from CD then is it one of the options? Because i really don't want
to have to reinstall windows.

If you boot from the CD you have the option to load the recovery console. From there you can execute commands etc...

Don't get it confused with Recovery CD. :)

okay lost xp cd. so am i not in a great situation. i can't get past the BSOD. can try loading safe mode or normal and its having none of it. eek

I had this happen once, it was quite a while ago, same weird thing with the shortcuts and they always loaded BF1942. Corrupted registry I think. Never was able to discover what did it.

Found that a reinstall was the only way to go. Sorry it's not much help, just thought i'd give a heads-up.

Well. Now my main comps HDD is 160Gb and has about 100Gb in use so I don't really want to loose it.

So basicly. I have sourced a 40Gb HDD from the family computer. It needed formatting anyway so I have just done a fresh install on it. Now i'm planning on loading in my computers main 160Gb HDD as a 2nd hard drive and seeing if I can sort it from there...

Cheers for the link ns400r...but my PDA wouldn't load it! So I couldn't see what was on it and got bored and annoyed so went expirementing. As I am still doing.

I'll read in now though anyway!

Cheers David.
