Just about to build my first computer and I've decided on the following spec, does anything look ok? Will the memory work ok with the mobo etc? The rig is going to be mainly used for music - playback/ripping/encoding so a quiet computer is a must, but I'll be running photoshop/quark etc on it as well. I'm a bit of a n00b at this so I'm a little bit wary of going AM2 so early but I want as up to date computer as possible and proably don't want to wait for conroe.

RME DIGI 96/8 PAD 24 Bit/96 kHz 8 Channel, Stereo Analog I/O, S/PDIF Cable & ADAT PCI Audiocard

I would go with a Seasonic PSU mate
and a creative sound card ;)

I don't really want to go with the Creative to be honest, I always thought they were more suited towards gaming. Is that Seasonic quiet? I read that non Antec PSUs can be a bit of a tight fit in the P180.

Other than than is everything ok? the main thing I'm worried about it the memory working with the mobo really.

The memory should be fine. As for the PSU, I know what you mean about other PSUs (other than Antec) being a tight fit. I recently purchased a Tagan 580w modular and I've got to cut the back of the case (where the PSU is) for the PSU to fit.

I have a Tagan 580W modular, and it fits, fine, but i had to move that back lower chamber fan to the opposite side of the metal plate that the braket is attached to.

Is there any isues with the Antec PSU or is it just down to preference again? presumably 500w be enough to power all that...

I was thinking about doing that, but do the hard drives fit ok down there?

Would it be possible for you to take a picture?
