EVGA 1080 Ti's noisy?

Hey guys,

So I think I'm pretty much mind made up on EVGA as a manufacturer solely down to the warranty they offer, but this leaves me in a tricky situation. I'm also pretty set on the 1080 Ti rather than just the standard 1080, but I've noticed all of the EVGA cards are currently 2 slot, not the normal 2.5 slot most others are - and my worry is with regards to noise (less optimal cooling).

My current setup is 2x 290's, but both are watercooled so as you'd expect it's pretty silent. I guess I could put a block on down the line (I'd have to check to see if EVGA allow it, or factor that into initial cost), but otherwise, I'm wondering how the EVGA 1080 Ti's are for noise?

And also further on from that, I see there's 2 main differing ones - the SC Black vs the SC2 Gaming - not really sure what the difference is aside from the cooler, which one would be best?

I can't really find much anywhere!

And if you think of anything else I've glaringly missed, or something wrong, please let me know :)

Matt

I have aorus extreme and SC2 gaming cards. There isn't a massive difference between them in normal gaming use, the SC2 is slightly louder, but still what I'd consider a quiet card for it's performance level.

Cheers guys - so one more question - SC2 vs FTW3?

Gamers Nexus seems to say at a price perspective the SC2 is the better buy, though the FTW3 has slightly better temps. Given the same price, what would you guys do?

:) Thanks.

I'll certainly have a lot of FPS for the 1080p 120Hz I'm on right now (though there's 3 of them at least), but looking at X35 when it's out later in 2018... for that 1440p superwide goodness!
