I'm having a nightmare with a EVGA nForce 680 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard I bought here in the UK at Overclockers UK for a total of £205.61.
I have been running this board for 2 months without any problems and then all of a sudden it stopped posting. I got a message error 1d which I think is something to do with Memory. I'm running 667MHZ DDR2 Samsung RAM. When I bought the board it stated that it would run 667MHZ DDR2 RAM. Like I said it all worked fine up until now.
I have also tried my other machines RAM and I have had the MB tested at my local PC shop. They have tried all sorts of RAM to and it still doesn’t post. I haven’t done any Over clocking yet as I feel that there’s nothing that really stresses my machine.
I sent the board back for RMA to Overclockers UK and they said they got it to boot several times. I then thought great problem solved. When it arrived back I installed it and still no post. I have been told by Overclockers UK to buy the same RAM they tested it with, which is Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C4 TwinX. I can’t understand for the life of me why my RAM worked for 2 months flawlessly and now Overclockers are telling me it may not be compatible? If it wasn’t compatible surely it wouldn’t work?
I have had my components tested and they are all fine so I'm concerned that it is an issue with the motherboard. I haven’t flashed the bios to the present version as I normally only flash if I’m having problems. Obviously I would flash the MB if I could get it to post
Now it is saying I have a -- error message what is this all about?
Can anybody help?
Best regards,
Adam
