Hi guys,

Yesterday I fitted the card mentioned in the title. Everything went smoothly, this morning I played 30 minutes of CS:GO and ran 3Dmark11. Went out for some lunch, leaving the computer downloading Planetside 2. Came back to find the machine off, and now it will power up but won't send a video signal.

Is this likely to be a dead gfx card?

Thanks!

Nope its a really old board FP-IN9 SLI running E6600 at 3.05. Will take the card to work tomorrow to get it tested. Was only going to be a month till I upgraded everything else as well :(

Couple of other things to possible to try is a CMOS reset and did you have a old card in the system you can pop back in?

Tried a CMOS reset already, it didn't help unfortunately!

PC didn't have a card (blew the last one about 2 years ago) only just dragged it out of storage to start the upgrade process..

Do you think the two gfx card failures could be related?

I tried a couple. Nothing branded, just a 500 and 600W generic, both with the same results. The PSU that was in it this time wasn't the one that was in it last time the gpu died.

If it wasn't plugged into a surge protector maybe a lightning bolt got it? Been some nasty weather recently, making me unplug everything I don't need out at night until I wake up.

It was on a surge protector, although we were having a bbq within 100m of the flat so if it did get hit I'm pretty sure we would see it :D

Silly question, but I'm in Germany atm, running a UK PSU couldn't be the issue could it? All the other electronics we brought out with us have coped without issue.
