Hi Chaps,

I am wondering which EVGA 780 Card to get, I was going to get the Classified version but I am stuck with a problem I my current card does use an 8 and 6 pin arrangement and the classified a two 8 pin arrangement and due to my case it might be tricky to get another cable in.

Is the Classified version worth the money and issues with the extra cabling?

But you would have used 2 PCI-E cables to power your 8pin + 6 pin GPU
And it also would only be 2 PCI-E cables to power a Classy with 8pin + 8pin

Surely the 6 pin thats going into your card now has a little block of 2 next to it to turn it into an 8?

Nope unfortunately it does not :(

I have a Be Quiet 900W...

I would need a 50-60cm cable due to my idiotic purchase of this Thermaltake level 10...

According to the specs you have 4x6/8 pin pci cables with that PSU. Theres no way a 900w PSU is without an 8 pin connection as the kind of buyer who needs a 900w Psu would generally need an 8 pin connection

Trouble is that IIRC the ones that came with the PSU were not long enough so OcUK installed longers cables, like I said the Thermaltake is probably the worst decision I ever made, its big and heavy... lmao... looks cool though

Regarding the 780 TFW and Classified, the classified is the best for OCing but currently I only plan on using it for my 1080 screen and the Oclus Rift when it comes out... if that makes a difference. The classified should fit in the thermaltake no problem however... doh

Right.....sorry dude ,now I'm with you. Just pick up a couple of adapters/extensions and dont worry about it as they would not sell them if they were not meant to be used.

No problem, thanks for helping me out...

BTW, one last thing is the cable that I posted above the right one?

Oh... hmm the Classified looks like it will be a bit of a squeeze getting into my case... seriously I should throw this case in the bin haha...

Unfortunately I have just confirmed that the Classified would not fit in my case...

On the positive side I can use the £30 I save on the FTW 780 to put towards some new RAM :)

Thanks again for your help :)
