Got bored so thought I'd overclock my card, didn't go so well.

Switched it to ln2, for some reason it was only letting me go to 110% powerlimit. Upped core by 50 and mem by 200. It was stable, tried 100 core 400 mem, it crashed instantly. Went back down to 200 mem and left the core at +100, was artifacting like crazy, done the same thing at +80 then even knocking the mem back down to stock still not stable.

Am I doing something wrong or just a bad clocker? This isn't the first time its happened, the first card I RMA'ed was even worse and I couldn't get 50 out of it. Any ideas? I don't really fancy drowning it in volts I'm already peaking at 77, so I don't think it'd be worth installing different BIOs and adjusting voltage.

Why would you switch it to ln2? I may be wrong but that mode is only for error correcting or something like that at extreme low temps.

Could someone correct me?

LN2 mode just allows you to increase the power limit, it's meant to be to 115%. It's also for if you want to add a different bios you can replace the stock LN" with a nother one such as skynet etc.

As said in the OP I don't fancy dabbling with voltages atm cause the temps are already peaking at 77 and I'm not a fan of high temps, once I get the card under water I will but for now the temps are already enough for my liking.

I must be thinking of my MB LN2 switch

Hi, when overclocking the card I would always suggest to OC GPU and RAM individually so you exactly know which component is causing the fault. What ws the total clockspeed you reached? Because of GPU boost 2.0 +xx do not say that much.. To get the full potential of the card you will need to download a BIOS from King Pins site and the overvoltage tool as well. With the OC BIOS you can then go up to 170% power target and upper the volts to 1.35V. When you do so I would suggest to apply some high end termal paste on the GPU and run an aggressive custom fan profile.
