Hi,

I bought this card yesterday from OCUK only to find after 15 mins of playing Gears of War, this happened.

What the hell!!! Do I just take it back to the shop or does anyone know whats wrong?

Got a mate with the crysis version having the exact same problem...

Got the fan set in Riva for dynamic... anything above 70C fan goes to 100%... you can hear the fan going up and down rapidly... sounds like dodgy thermal sensor/contacts...

Recommended that he RMA'd it, not even worth trying to see how it goes on Stock Clocks as that wasn't what he'd paid for. He's just worried about what the turn around time is on these...

Wasn't it BFG that were putting new heatsinks on the 8800GTs as the current ones aren't up to scratch?

Turned it up to 80% at the moment of install because I've heard that this runs hot.

I have even got a scythe s-flex 1600rpm blowing over the card to help lower the temp.

To be honest I get a lot of BSOD in Crysis. Dont know if this is due to the card or what. Ive got till next Tuesday to RMA it. If you continue to have issues with yours keep us posted will ya?

But they're designed to run hot... *cough*

I'd RMA it, no point paying over the odds for a product that doesn't work properly at stated frequencies. Push for full refund rather than wait an extra 15 years for some more to come in stock.

Exactly the same as I was seeing on my BFG OC2.

Returned to OcUK under DR for refund. I'll wait for these bugs to get sorted & the price to come down aft Christmas now

Are all these Evga SSC cards like this ? I just got mine today, but waiting for other components before i can install and see . . .

Peeps were posting on the Evga forum with the exact same problem, apparantly a heat/memory problem, needs better cooling or lower memory clocks, which kinda sucks if you've paid all that cash for the extra performance.

RMA. That happens to me in 3DMark if I OC my memory to more than 2074  Apparently your card wasn't checked thoroughly to ensure that it can take the memory overclock :(
