HI,
my first post guys,
ok i have these graphics cards on a j+w ip35 pro mobo with 4gb sli ram and a q6600.
question is this:
I purchased the additional graphics card so I could use a sli bridge to get better performance, does it matter my mobo has no apparant support for sli?
thanks

Yes. SLi won't work without an SLi motherboard in the vast majority of cases, including yours.

On a side note, SLi-approved RAM is marketing pap. The RAM has nothing to do with SLi support or performance.

thats wrong

with epp mobo ram and gpu then you can get a lot faster pc by clicking the diffrent profiles my old ram was 1066 @ 5,5,5,15 but with epp the ram went 1066, 4,4,4,12 it upped the pci-e lane to 125mhz aswell so the gpu could be clocked more it then clcoked the cpu....but it is motherboard dependant (680/780)

ideal to someone needing a boost for no extra money and not knowing how to overclock

You can still do all of that manually... so SLI RAM is pretty much just marketing rubbish... and its not 100% foolproof either - more like 50% at best.

sli

thanks for the advice,
I actually new deep down it wasnt compatible, guess i was clutching at straws.
Damn it, I only built it about 2 weeks ago.
OK, new mobo, any ideas or reccomendations as to which to buy please?
Also I would love to know how to overclock the system, I have done some basic OC, i.e. increase the cpufsb too 333mhz and increase the cpu voltage a little, i got 3ghz stable.
thanks
