Thought I would share some pics of my recently purchased card.

For those interested, I'm seeing low 20's idle and high 30's load, sometimes creeps into the 40's during longer session. In the loop is a triple EK rad and a quad, the CPU is a 5960X.

And with the case moved from off the floor onto the desk.

Forgot to mention that the tubing is bodged in after taking out two 290X's so the routes aren't the best.

Yeah I would love another but I get enough performance out of the single card (without OC), so a bit of a waste of £630 at the moment I think.

Thanks for the comments. I'd love to get a second one, but two things put me off:

1) They're £630 each.
2) At 3440x1440 I can play anything smoothly, without overclocking it.

Nice looking system sir!

But are you really playing games smoothly with just one 980? When you say smooth, what fps are we talking here?

Least I've seen is 40. Most of the time fps is over 60.

Let's put it this way - everything is more smooth than it was with two 290X's.

Temps are fine too, mid to high 40's after several loops in Heaven with heavy overclocks, so nothing to worry about.

I tried BF4, smooth does not do it justice. Except I died, so alt f4'd. :(

Yeah looks awesome. :)

What's the connector fittings you use between the cards, who makes them, and what's the spacing between the cards/PCI lanes?

I bought EK tubing but it doesn't fit as although the blocks are EK, the fittings/spacings etc are Swiftech. So I cut two short lengths of tube to sit between the cards.

33 or 45, is it much of an issue? I could maybe make it cooler by changing to serial, by using a more powerful pump, by using more rad's, by using higher fan speeds, more fans, push pull yaddy yaddy ya. But I don't want to, temps are perfectly reasonable and the loudest thing in my whole case is the pump itself.
