ahaha he got you there.

Am still suprised they are still improving on the 9k series as the 200 series are still being made new.

Isn't this pretty... silly?

That's like HD5770 money, which is a better performer, more future proof, consumes less power and is smaller.

I think they've used the G92 GPU too much now.

And am I not right in thinking that nVidia have stopped giving the AIB Partners GT200 GPUs? All the AIB partners must be feeling a bit... drawn out. (Well, the nVidia exclusive ones, like EVGA.)

The 9800 is a great card. Was running one of these for a year - and effectively still am with my 9800GX2 un-SLIed. I dont think its relevant at this price though.

Grabbed myself two GTX280s at £160 a piece last night :D

It was my understanding that: the GTS250 is a re-named 9800GTX+, same card just different name. The 9800GTX+ was a die shrunk version of the 9800GTX (down to 55nm, so even though the addition of the "+" is the most subtle change its also the biggest). And the 9800GTX was an over clocked version of the 8800 GTS

Kinda. The GTS250 512Mb is in most cases *exactly* the same as the 9800GTX+

However the GTS 1024Mb uses a whole new board which has lower power requirements and is a better card.

HD5770 > GTS250 so these are a little bit too expensive.

It's certainly one of the better nVidia deals atm though. :)

At around £125 you should be looking at 5770's or 4870's. This would only be useful if your using it to SLI another card, even then it's expensive for what it is.

the prices of these are dropping :) but i would need the normal version of go down to 80 to see it as a deal worth buying!
