hi. well i have a doubt.
i have this pc
evga 9800 gx2 1gb
evga 790i ultra sli
intel core 2 duo e8400 3.0ghz
power tpq 850 antec 850wat
using a thermaltake xaser mx midtower case.

well the problem may be is that the when i check temperatures on speed fan the cores are about 30-45c thats ok, but the Gpu both, are about 70-75 C
isnt that too hot for the video card?

i readed some where that this is like low medium for video cards. should i worry?

until now i havent any kind of crash or error but when i saw that number and a fire simbol in the program i use to check temp i got kind of scared.

thanks for helping with this info, i didnt find any similar post trough the web so i had to make this post.

I dont think that is hot for a 9800Gx2.
Mine go up into the 90c. And one time one core was at 105c at this temp it will shut down before it melts :), this was due to me setting the fan speed to 45% and i was stressing the cores out. I forgot to set the fan speed back to auto.

where can i check fan speed for the gpu man, are u sure isnt any cooling device needing? i play all at super highest graphics so temp foes up to 105-100 c when playing for a while. i dont play all day and i never play more tha a few hours but i like to enjoy while playing and i really dont want my card to get messed up. u sure it will be ok going that hot?

Well you did not say the temp goes up to 100 to 105c in your first post. If it is going that hight then that is to high. I was just saying it can go that high with out damaging your video card. But if that is the regular temp then i would be worried.

I just checked the temps on my 9800Gx2 and the two cores are in the 90's which im not worried about.

You can download rivatuner which then you can change the fan speed, and monitor the temps of your video card.

i see. but anyway the web says every where that goes to 100/105 both gpu is normal.
any VGA cooler suggestion? im kind of worry u know. when it get hot i start to hear the fan on the card because its on auto speed and it starts to work faster, but can anyone confirm this is or not a dangerous temperature for the card?
