Seeing as this is on TWO at a really nice price ( £79.99 instead of £95.99, I was looking to get peoples thoughts on this PSU.
It is made by EVGA with Superflower internals, yes it is a hybrid modular system rather than fully modular, but with the hardwired cables being the 20+4 pin ATX, EPS 12v 4+4 and two PCIE VGA 6+2, which I would need all of them any way being semi modular doesn't seem top be too much of a problem.

Any one using one and can comment with their thoughts, or just any other comments would be great.

People say only get a golden rated PSU, but the EVGA 850W G2 gold is £34 dearer and my usage pattern costs me about £88 a year. the 7% efficiency difference between a gold and bronze would cost about £6 extra a year.
So that is five and half years before the gold is actually saving me anything.

As for do I need an 850W, no of course I don't, just the same as I don't need a watercooled 6 core 4.4GHz Intel CPU and a well clocked NV 970. The only reason I didn't go with a second 970 is down to my Corsair TX750, which would have probably been plenty good enough but I'm a little conservative on that front.

Bottom line I've earmarked an 850W for my next PSU.

Not too sure about Superflower with their warranty service after this thread. So EVGA it is.

You never did bother posting your specs to see if you actually need 850w.

Nope I didn't, other than the post 3 above yours stating that I know I don't need an 850w, but I want one.

Full specs just for you. :)

If your using your machine a lot I wouldnt get bronze. Look for gold.

As was explained earlier A gold over a bronze with my usage will save about £6 a year but cost £34 more, so that would require 5 and 1/2 years to make it worth the extra.

You ask for advice and then get touchy when people ask for more information. That's a surefire way to ensure you get no help in future.

Your right, I get far too caught up in it all, loads of stress in real life doesn't help.

Many apologies if I came across a bit snippy.:)

I know it is not their top end PSU but after unpacking the thing, it just seems that EVGA have put a lot of effort into providing a quality piece of kit.

A motherboard hotwire adapter and Velcro cable ties, along with more cables than I could ever need.
Very happy so far.

The harribo was nice too. :D
