EVGA extends Step-Up program to encourage GeForce 9800 GX2 upgrades

P.S, Step Up is normally 90days with no exeptions period.

wow... smart deal for eVGA, and smart deal for the consumer... I'd even consider swapping out my card for an eVGA 9600GT and saving up, if the card wasn't so darned expensive

isn't the step up deal, buy normal card, then if you want to upgrade, pay the difference?

why on earth wouldn't they want to do it. 8800gts of new, £170 or something, 2x £340, they are charging £430 for these cards, so rather than have you buy a £170 2nd card, they are essentially encouraging you to pay £270 for a 2nd card for sli increasing their profit by a long way. Whatever card you upgrade from, the 9800gtx is a complete and utter rip off. But the profit must be immense. i mean its not a more expensive pcb really , its just two cards bolted together, price shouldn't be too far off the normal price for two cards.

Who cares ?.

Its been said 100 times here, I dont want another Step Up is crap debate m8.

I only wanted peeps to know its now 120days for this GX2 not normal 90days.

Some feel its a rip of others dont, no other manu lets you change your mind and buy a better card if you find more cash or simply buy a card later not out at time of present purchase.

BTW, Although the cost of the new card aint cheap and you pay the diff, you do however get the full price you paid for your old card which could be more than you get for selling it, so its swings and roundabouts.
