EVGA G2 750W cable braiding help

First off I've never braided cables before so am a complete noob to all this, but decided I'd give it a go on the new build thinking it would be pretty straightforward. Then I removed the heat shrink / braiding to make a start and this is what greeted me...

Yes, right on the end that's highly visible there's numerous capacitors. Just wondering what the easiest way around this is, why they're there and whether it's safe to simply remove them.

Used extensions in the current build and tbh I'm not really a fan, they add far too much length and too much extra bulk behind the motherboard.

Will have to do a bit more research, the other option I was toying with is to solder in some longer wire just to move the capacitors out of sight behind the motherboard. When the case comes on Monday I'll have to see how annoying the current position of them really is and decide how much effort this is all worth if they can't be removed :)
