Hi all,

Just wondering if my EVGA GTX 570 HD 2.5GB would be any good for a 2560x1600 resolution?

I've got a 1080p monitor at the moment and everything runs flawless, but I'm considering upgrading my monitor.

Would this card handle 2560x1600 in BF3 at ultra?

I don't want to turn anything down and don't really want to see any detriment to performance so figured I'd rather ask the question before I buy.

I'll not bother buying it if it's not going to be worth it.

Thanks,

G

It should give a decent frame rate in most games, but you'll almost certainly have to turn off anti-aliasing, and possible reduce another setting somewhere along the line. Most eye candy should be available, though. The problem is, although it has the vram, it will lack the gpu grunt to back it up in some situations. That would be a great card for 1200p or so.

You'll need 570 SLI for ultra.
Or sell it & get a 670 but even a 670 barely manages ultra @ 1600p

This. Getting the 2.5gb model is only feasible if you're getting two of them as one doesn't have enough grunt to run the high levels of AA that would hit the VRAM limit on a 1.25 gb model
