EVGA GTX660 fan noise

Hi guys

I have just installed the above card for a mates build and I find the fan very annoying. At idle it sounds rough I suppose is the only way I can discribe it. I can handle normal fan noise but this sound is odd.

Can anyone else with this card let me know what thiers sound like on low.

No it's not loud air noise, it like resonating noise

I would say the fan is faulty then. I have had an unblanced fan before and man it sounds awful. RMA it bud is the best option

Alternatively, he could go for a third party cooler as EVGA won't void the warranty.

More expensive, but might be better in the long term and would save you RMAing

I wouldn't want to be messing about with heatsinks/putting on new paste if I had just got the card...Actually yer I would but not everyone would want to.

Thanks for your comments. As its a build for my mate I will let him decide, if it gets worse, either rma or I will change the hsf for him
