EVGA Minibox, now called Hadron, will be available soon for a considerable price.

Hadron Air

  • Width: 6.6in – 169mm
  • Height: 12in – 305mm
  • Depth: 12.1in – 308mm
  • Weight: 13.22lb - 6kg

Narrower than SG05 and very slightly shorter, but taller as to be expected.

I was expecting it to weigh less, but hey-ho. And looks like no reset button as well.

Can't help but misread the case name

Still though, looks really good, not an option for me unfortunately with an HD7990 due to the PSU.

Would definitely go for the hydro option however.

Proprietary PSU with tiny fan? sounds noisy recipe before you even start. Nice looking case though.

You would think, but the digital storm bolt uses a 500W Gold 1U PSU which is pretty quiet from the reviews of the system out there at least on idle which is the main concern, most likely the same one used in the EVGA Hadron Case.

Idle noise is relevant?

Cpus and gpus are increasingly going into ultra low power modes when they are not busy.

Along with that, PSUs and motherboards have been coming with fan profiles to idle fans when power demand is low for ages now.

Question is how much noise it makes when it is given some work to do and the fans are told to ramp up.

Thought the same, when I saw him peeling the inside of the case off.

Hopefully when the case is refined it will be better, but until that eventually happens I don't like waiting, these adjustments should have been made before hand.

Corsair are apparently working on a small ITX case hopefully they release it soon or I will most probably end up buying a Coolermaster Elite 130.

Im pretty sure its only that one piece is black film not paint, and thats inside the case.

it'll cost around £150, but with that you get a gold rated 500W power supply.

Some people think it's to expensive, but I don't think they take the cost of the psu into consideration.

I think it's coming out next week, will OC's be stocking these?

It wasn't the PSU that put me off from that vid, it looked a bit "jack of all trades master of none" which meant it didn't seem to inspire either a gaming rig or HTPC type rig.

but you could pick up a SG05 and a gold rated 450W Silverstone SFX PSU for around the £100 mark which is a smaller case.

If this was £100 i would snap one up. not for £150 though

Not seen it as low as £150. But that still seems expensive for what it is, after consideration.

Measuring it up against my existing SG03 it's not that much smaller when take in to account the lose in flexibility.

SG03 vs Hadron Air
Width (mm): 200 vs 169
Height (mm): 360 vs 305
Depth (mm): 312 vs 308
Weight (kg): 3.5 vs 6

Also, I'm disappointed with EVGA's design decisions and omissions for the asking price. Which is annoying as I was really looking forward to this case, but instead left with dilemma of re-using my SG03 or a SG05.

Im sure the hadron will be able to keep lower temps than the SG05 though

And since when did a SG05 make for a hot system?

80 degrees for my Titan at load, 51 degrees for my i5 2500 at load with a H60 on about 1200rpm.

No heat here, just a reasonably noticable fan on the ST45SF-G power supply.
