Hi,

I'm looking to buy an R9 295x2 so I can game in 4k with good fps at max settings... For now at least.

Bit torn on which PSU to get. Thinking about either an EVGA Supernova 1200W P2 Platinum, or a SuperFlower Leadex Platinum 1200W. Any ideas on which is the best, or if there are better options than these... Any help appreciated!

Cheers

Mossy.

I would get the EVGA just for the 10 year warranty. Not having to put up with the tacky led's on the Superflower would also be welcome. As Stulid say's, both are based on the same platform so there are only minor differences between them.

The 1000w would be more than enough if you stick with the single card. However, if you are thinking of adding a second in the future, take a look at HardOCP's review of a pair of these cards. They had a 1350w psu that couldn't power the system!! Other reviews are passing 1250w as well. Maybe a 1500w psu would be a better idea if you have plans to add another.

Cheers - think I'll go with the 1000w for now then. Doubt I'll ever decide to go crossfire with this, probably swap back to NVidia in a year or two once they release a card that can handle 4k at decent fps on max settings.

Thanks for the help!

I've just picked up a 295x2 myself and am powering it with a Superflower Leadex Gold 850w in the pc in my sig and have no problems so the 1000w version will have plenty spare.

Nice little review of the 1200W Platinum PSU here as well done by KitGuru last week:
